On May 28, 2019, the Kadena Police Station arrested Gentry Mall (phonetic), a 25-year-old U.S. marine sergeant stationed at Camp Hansen for violation of the Road Traffic Act (driving under the influence of alcohol) in Yara district in the town of Kadena. The suspect denies the charge, saying, “I did not drink alcohol.”
The allegation is that around 1:18 a.m. on May 28, the suspect drove his car under the influence of alcohol with the amount twice more than the legal limit (0.15 mg per liter of exhalation) in the town of Kadena.
According to the police, it received a 110 [119] call reporting that a car does not move on a green light. While the police was approaching the scene, it noticed a car making a jackrabbit start. The police stopped the car to question the driver, which disclosed the DUI.
