Shigeki Suzuki tapped as Vice-Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications

The government decided on June 27 to tap Shigeki Suzuki, 63, who hails from the now defunct Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, to replace retiring Vice-Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications Mitsuru Yasuda, 61. The appointment will be officially announced in early July if it is approved at a cabinet meeting.

 

[Shigeki Suzuki] (Vice-Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications): Graduated from the University of Tokyo; joined the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications in 1981; served as Global ICT Strategy Bureau chief; Vice-Minister for Policy Coordination since June 2016; 63 years old; born in Kanagawa Prefecture.
