KDDI invests in U.S. start-up

On Aug. 9, KDDI announced that it has invested in Neutron Holdings, Inc. (California), the U.S. start-up that operates “Lime,” an electric kick scooter sharing service. The amount of the investment has not been disclosed but is thought to be a few hundred million yen. KDDI will support the expansion of Lime in Japan, including the verification testing due to start in Fukuoka City in September. Launched in 2017, Neutron has introduced Lime in over 100 cities in 25 nations, including the United States.
