Toyama, Aug. 16 (Jiji Press)–Air Seoul will suspend its regular flights connecting Incheon International Airport in South Korea with Toyama airport in central Japan, starting on Sept. 16, the Toyama prefectural government said Thursday.

The move comes as bookings for the service for August and later are poor amid tense relations between Japan and South Korea, prefectural officials quoted Air Seoul as saying.

Air Seoul has already decided to suspend its flights linking Incheon and two other airports in Japan–Kumamoto and Yamaguchi–from October.

Currently, the airline flies between Incheon and Toyama three times a week, except winter. The route’s passenger load factor rose to 80.6 pct in fiscal 2018, which ended in March, from 66 pct in the previous year.
