On Sept. 1, the Okinawa Police Station arrested a 22-year-old sergeant affiliated with the U.S. Marine Corps’ Camp Courtney for driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) on a town road in Chatan. The charge is violation of the Road Traffic Act (DUI). “I thought the alcohol had worn off,” he said, denying the charges.

The allegation is that at around 3:10 a.m. on Sept. 1 on a town road in Mihama, Chatan, the suspect was driving under the influence of alcohol (three times the legal limit of 0.15 mg/liter of exhalation). (Slightly abridged)
