Leaders of Japan, Mongolia confirm cooperation for DPRK denuclearization

VLADIVOSTOK — Prime Minister Shinzo Abe met with Mongolian President Battulga Khaltmaa for about 35 minutes in the Russian Far East city of Vladivostok on Sept. 5. They confirmed that they will cooperate on denuclearizing North Korea and resolving its missile and abduction issues. Mongolia and North Korea established diplomatic relations in 1948 and maintain close ties. Abe said, “We’d like to further strengthen our strategic partnership.”
