Tokyo governor plans to name ex-Yahoo President Miyasaka as deputy

Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike on Sept. 5 submitted a plan to appoint former Yahoo President Manabu Miyasaka, who currently serves as an advisor to the Tokyo metropolitan government, as deputy governor. The plan is expected to be approved at a plenary meeting on Sept. 10. Miyasaka will assume the post on Sept. 20 and work on information and communication policies, including the expansion of the fifth-generation (5G) communications network.
