Hatano City Office in Kanagawa Prefecture revealed on Sept. 12 that its South Korean friendship city of Paju had informed it that it has canceled its plan to send three city officials to accompany a private delegation to participate in an exchange event being held in conjunction with the “72nd Hatano Tobacco Festival.” The exchange event is focused on escorting to the tobacco festival members of a friendship association composed of Paju citizens interested in exchange with Hatano City. The size of the delegation will also reportedly be decreased from the original 17 to six. The 72nd Hatano Tobacco Festival will be held on Sept. 28-29. (Abridged)
