Abe to name Hosoda to lead LDP headquarters for constitutional revision

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who is also president of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, on Sept. 12 decided to appoint former LDP Secretary General Hiroyuki Hosoda chairperson of the party’s Headquarters for the Promotion of Revision of the Constitution. Abe is also planning to tap former Internal Affairs Minister Tsutomu Sato as chairperson of the Lower House Commission on the Constitution, which discusses draft bills to amend the Constitution and related bills.
