BEIJING; PYONGYANG – A delegation of about 60 Japanese arrived in Pyongyang by air via Beijing on Sept. 14, led by Shingo Kanemaru (74), the second son of former Liberal Democratic Party Vice-President Shin Kanemaru, who had worked hard to improve the Japan-DPRK relationship. They will stay in North Korea until Sept. 19. North Korea plans to hold a reception on Sept. 17, which would be Shin Kanemaru’s 105th birthday if he were still alive. The Japanese delegates may meet with senior officials of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
