U.S. service member arrested for DUI in Naha

On Sept. 13, the Naha Police Station arrested a 33-year-old staff sergeant stationed at the U.S. Marine Corps’ Camp Hansen for driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) on a road in Matsuyama, Naha City. The charge is violation of the Road Traffic Act (DUI). The suspect denied the charges, saying, “I didn’t drink alcohol.”


The allegation is that at around 6:40 a.m. on Sept. 13 on a public road in Matsuyama, Naha City, the suspect was driving under the influence of alcohol exceeding the legal limit of 0.15 mg/liter of exhalation. (Slightly abridged)
