On Sept. 15, the Okinawa Police Station arrested a 23-year-old sergeant affiliated with the U.S. Marine Corps’ Camp Hansen for driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) on National Route 330 in Okinawa City’s Uechi district. The charge is violation of the Road Traffic Act (DUI). “I drank at around noon yesterday, so I thought the alcohol had worn off,” the suspect said, denying the charges. The allegation is that the suspect was driving under the influence of alcohol (about 1.5 times the legal limit of 0.15 mg/liter of exhalation) at around 0:14 a.m. on Sept. 15 on National Route 330 in Okinawa City’s Uechi district.
