On Sept. 20, Fujitsu Ltd. announced its appointment of Shotaro Yachi, former secretary-general of the National Security Secretariat (NSS) and former Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, as executive advisor. The appointment is dated Oct. 1.
The position in part-time. The aim is for him to apply his expertise in international affairs to the management of the company.
Yachi was an outside director of Fujitsu Limited from June 2012 through December 2013, prior to his appointment to the position of NSS secretary-general. (Slightly abridged)
