New York, Sept. 24 (Jiji Press)–Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Tuesday that his country will back efforts by private-sector companies for achieving the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals.
Abe unveiled the plan in his speech at a summit on the SDGs that was held at the U.N. headquarters in New York on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly session.
The prime minister reported that leaders from the Group of 20 advanced and emerging economies had adopted the Osaka Blue Ocean Vision at their summit in Osaka, western Japan, in June, aiming to reduce marine plastic litter to zero by 2050.
