On Sept. 25, Liberal Democratic Party Secretary-General Toshihiro Nikai met with LDP Policy Research Council Chairperson Fumio Kishida over dinner at a Chinese restaurant in Tokyo. They confirmed their cooperation in advancing discussions on constitutional revision. According to an informed source, the meeting was proposed by Nikai. Acting Secretaries-General Motoo Hayashi and Katsutoshi Kaneda as well as senior members of the Kishida faction were also present.
