At a press conference held on Sept. 30, Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) Chairman Akio Mimura indicated that his organization plans to resume exchanges with its South Korean counterpart that were suspended due to the requisitioned worker issue. The JCCI and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) had called off their leaders’ meeting in November 2018. “The business organizations of the two nations need to convey to their governments the impact of the recent political situation on the business climate. If possible, we want to resume exchanges [with the KCCI] at some point next spring.”
