CCS Suga negative about dissolution of Lower House by year-end

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga was negative about the possibility of the Lower House being dissolved for a general election by the end of the year during the recording on Oct. 4 of his appearance in “Nikkei Sunday Salon,” a BS TV Tokyo news program. “[The dissolution of the Lower House] is the prerogative of the prime minister, but what is important now is to put the economy on track after the consumption tax hike. That should stay as our primary focus,” he said. Asked about his desire to succeed Abe, he responded “I want to just focus on my job as chief cabinet secretary.”
