Part fell off MC130-J found at Ie Jima airfield

Ryukyu Shimpo and Okinawa Times wrote on Saturday that the Okinawa Prefectural Government has obtained information through the Defense Ministry’s Okinawa Bureau that the U.S. military disclosed on Oct. 25 that it found at Ie Jima Auxiliary Airfield on Oct. 18 a part believed to have fallen off a Kadena-based MC130-J special mission aircraft. The paper wrote that the U.S. military said on Oct. 21 that the part was found at a “U.S.-controlled airfield.” According to the papers, the U.S. military revised the information about the size of the part by saying that it was 0.5 kg and 1.34 m long as opposed to 3.6 kg and 90 cm as previously reported.
