Ryukyu Shimpo and Okinawa Times led with reports saying that a U.S. airman participating in parachute drop training on Wednesday landed in an undesignated are on Okinawa’s Ie Island. According to the papers, the airman landed on the premises of Iejima Airport, which is not designated as an area for the training. The papers noted that two Marines also landed in an undesignated area on the island during the parachute drop training on Tuesday. According to Okinawa Times, there were no reports of injuries or property damage.
