KIN — Kin Town in November has painted a large sign saying “NO FLY ZONE” on the rooftop of the town office in a bid to draw the U.S. military’s attention to training flights being conducted in violation of the noise-prevention agreement between Japan and the U.S.
The municipal government is aiming to reach individual pilots instead of the U.S. military as an organization because it thinks pilots and service members may not fully understand the agreement because they are often transferred. (Abridged)
