The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) announced on Dec. 12 that Brunei had eliminated its import restrictions on Japanese food products imposed after the 2011 earthquake-tsunami disaster. MOFA received a notice from Brunei dated Dec. 11. Brunei’s King Hassanal Bolkiah expressed the country’s intention to remove the restrictions when he met with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in October.
