Head of Japan-Taiwan parliamentary association to visit Taiwan from Jan. 16

Keiji Furuya (Liberal Democratic Party), chairman of the suprapartisan Japan-Taiwan parliamentary association, will visit Taiwan for two days from Jan. 16. He is scheduled to meet with President Tsai Ing-wen (Democratic Progressive Party), the pro-independence leader who was reelected to office in the recent presidential election, to discuss matters pertaining to future Taiwan-Japan ties. The association announced the visit on Jan. 15
