Kumamoto, Jan. 23 (Jiji Press)–Air Seoul is making arrangements to resume its flights connecting Incheon International Airport, adjacent to Seoul, and Aso Kumamoto Airport in southwestern Japan in March, it has been learned.
The South Korean low-cost carrier is expected to restart one regular round trip on the route on Monday and Thursday every week from March 16, an informed source said Wednesday.
The airline aims to draw South Korean travelers to visit Kumamoto to play golf, the source said.
Air Seoul halted Kumamoto-Incheon flights last October after the number of travelers to Kumamoto decreased due to worsening Tokyo-Seoul ties.
Kumamoto, which is making efforts to lure more foreign visitors, had called for Air Seoul to restart the service.
