During a meeting of the Cyber Security Strategy Headquarters (led by Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga) held at the Prime Minister’s Office [Kantei] on Jan. 30, the government reported that it allocated about 83.4 billion yen in the fiscal 2020 budget plan for cybersecurity. The amount is the highest ever, topping the 12.1 billion yen earmarked in the initial compilation of the fiscal 2019 budget.
