All national papers wrote that ANA and JAL announced yesterday that they have decided to suspend or reduce almost by half their passenger flights from Japan to Beijing, Shanghai, and other major Chinese cities at least through late March because of a sharp drop in demand. The two airlines also reportedly explained that flying aircraft to China would make it difficult to staff other international flights with pilots and cabin attendants since some countries are prohibiting the entry of people who have visited China in the past two weeks.
