On Feb. 7, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) announced that the North Korean-flagged tanker Chon Ma San is suspected of having conducted a ship-to-ship transfer with a vessel of unknown nationality on the high seas in the East China Sea. A UN Security Council resolution bans North Korean ships from conducting the maritime transfer of goods. The MOFA reported the incident to the UN.
