Suga says Chinese leader Xi to visit Japan as planned

NHK reported online that Chief Cabinet Secretary Suga told the press this morning that the plan for Chinese leader Xi to visit Japan is still in place. He reportedly said: “We are watching closely for any developments surrounding the National People’s Congress in China, but in any case, the plan for Chinese leader Xi to visit Japan has not changed and we will steadily make preparations. The foreign ministers of Japan and China also confirmed during their meeting held this month that the two nations will continue to work closely to prepare for the state visit.”
