Japanese police asked U.S. for data on fingerprints of 677 individuals in 2019

Nikkei reported on the disclosure by the National Police Agency yesterday that a total of 677 requests for data on fingerprints were filed with U.S. law enforcement authorities last year in accordance with the bilateral accord on Preventing and Combating Serious Crime (PCSC). As a result of crosschecking, two criminals were identified. The U.S. filed 771 such requests with Japan, resulting in the identification of 16 crime suspects.
