Japan, South Korea agree to continue talks on export controls

NHK reported online on an announcement by METI that Japan and South Korea held a policy dialogue via videoconference between director generals on export controls from March 10 to 11 and agreed to continue the dialogue. The network said during the talks, which lasted about 16 hours, the two sides welcomed the progress in the improvement of legislation on trade controls in South Korea, and agreed to continue to discuss Japan’s measures that tightened controls on exports of key materials for semiconductors to South Korea.
