MHLW: 60 people in critical condition in Japan

NHK reported on Tuesday evening that according to the MHLW, among those who tested positive for the new coronavirus in Japan, 60 people, including 14 who were on board the Diamond Princess, are on respirators or in ICU as of March 17. The network said another person who was on the cruise ship is also in critical condition, although this person has not been confirmed to be infected with the virus. According to the network, among the 14 people who were on board the cruise ship and are in critical condition, two of them are in their 80s, seven are in their 70s, and six are in their 60s. Eight of these patients are Japanese and seven are foreigners.
