President Mori says Tokyo Organizing Committee will not insist on holding Olympics as planned

NHK reported that President Mori of the Tokyo Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games held a press conference today and expressed the view that the committee will consider the possibility of postponing the Tokyo Games in light of the new coronavirus pandemic. Mori reportedly said: “Today the situation in the international community is changing, and the situations in the U.S. and Europe are especially alarming. We are not so foolish as to say that we will hold the Games as planned under these circumstances.”
