Nikkei wrote that in response to the growing number of COVID-19 infections, the GOJ will establish a coronavirus taskforce headquarters based on the revised special measures law to respond to new types of influenza. Under the special measures law, a taskforce headquarters is established after the Health Minister reports to the Prime Minister that “there is a great risk of the rampant spread of infection,” and it will develop basic guidelines for measures to address the new coronavirus based on advice from medical and health experts.
