NHK and TV Asahi led with reports that the MHLW has notified local governments of a new set of guidelines that allow asymptomatic patients and those with mild symptoms to stay at home or at lodging facilities so that designated hospitals can accommodate patients in serious condition. NTV gave top play to a report that Prime Minister Abe said at the Diet this morning that although now is not the time to declare a state of emergency, he will do so without hesitation if necessary. TBS led with a report that the governor of Ehime disclosed this morning that an infant less than a year old has tested positive for the new coronavirus. She reportedly has no symptoms and is currently hospitalized. Her parents also tested positive on Wednesday after a friend of theirs who was visiting from the U.S. stayed at their house from March 22 to 25.
