All national papers wrote that a total of 241 people were found to be infected with the coronavirus across Japan on Monday, including 83 individuals in Tokyo. The nation’s total number of cases amounted to 4,092. The routes of infection of some 90% of the additional cases in the nation’s capital reportedly cannot be tracked. The number of patients in Tokyo has increased 2.5-fold in the past week.

Yomiuri noted that 18 medical interns at Keio University hospital in Tokyo have tested positive, noting that they apparently got infected after attending a dinner party of some 40 junior doctors despite the hospital administrator’s advice not to do so.
