NHK gave top coverage to a report that Saitama Governor Ono said he will look into the treatment of a COVID-19 patient who died after being asked to stay home because his symptoms were mild. TBS led with a report on the finding that 239 medical practitioners working at 29 hospitals in Tokyo have been infected with COVID-19, including 73 at a hospital in Taito Ward where an in-hospital infection has been confirmed and 29 at Keio University Hospital. NTV gave top play to a report that 15 additional cases of COVID-19 were confirmed at a hospital in Ishikawa Prefecture, bringing the total to 28. Fuji TV led with a report that Tokyo Governor Koike will announce this evening a set of regulations to restrict the number of customers in supermarkets. TV Asahi reported that 14 additional crew members of the cruise ship Costa Atlantica tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total to 48. Nagasaki Prefecture is planning to test all 623 crew members, and will take samples from the remaining 499 members through tomorrow.
