On April 30, the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) intraparty faction led by Fumio Kishida approved the admission of Yoichi Fukazawa, who won the House of Representatives by-election in the Shizuoka No. 4 constituency for the first time on April 26. The addition of Fukazawa brought the Kishida faction’s membership to 47, which is equivalent to that of the fourth largest intraparty faction led by Toshihiro Nikai.
