Japan Teachers’ Union says move to Sept. start of school too hasty

The Japan Teachers’ Union (Nikkyoso) held an extraordinary officers’ meeting on April 30 in Tokyo. The attendees shared the feeling that the move to shift the start of the school year to September is too hasty. Some of the union members are cautious about the shift, saying that “countermeasures for the new coronavirus and a change in the school system should be discussed separately.”
