Ginoza assembly calls for U.S. military to disclose information on COVID-19

Monday’s Ryukyu Shimpo wrote that the assembly of the village of Ginoza unanimously adopted on Thursday an opinion paper calling on the GOJ to take measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and provide emergency assistance. The opinion paper also called on the central government to ask the U.S. Department of Defense to disclose information about the COVID-19 situation at U.S. bases and their measures to prevent the spread of the virus. The opinion paper was addressed to the prime minister, the ministers of finance, health, and defense, the MOFA Ambassador to Okinawa, and the Okinawa governor.
