Japan’s first clinical trials of coronavirus vaccine to start in Osaka on June 30

Sankei wrote that Osaka Governor Yoshimura told the press on Wednesday that clinical trials of a potential vaccine for the new coronavirus developed by the Osaka University-led medical startup Anges will start on June 30. These will be the first clinical trials of a coronavirus vaccine on humans in Japan. According to the governor, the tests will initially target 20 to 30 medical workers at Osaka City University Hospital and be expanded to hundreds of subjects by October. Yoshimura also said that the prefecture is hoping that supplies of the vaccine for 200,000 people will be produced by the end of this year.
