The Ishikawa police department in Okinawa arrested a U.S. military serviceman on June 21 for violation of the Road Traffic Act (driving under the influence of alcohol).

The serviceman, reportedly a U.S. Army specialist corporal reportedly stationed at U.S. Air Base Kadena, admitted to drinking “two bottles of beer” before driving. A Breathalyzer test indicated a level of alcohol about twice the legal limit (0.15 mg per 1 liter of exhalation).

The serviceman is suspected of driving a light vehicle on National Route 58 in Maeganeku, Onna village, under the influence of alcohol on June 21 at around 2:15 a.m.
