Ryukyu Shimpo wrote that three MV-22 Ospreys operated after 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, outside the time frame agreed upon between the United States and Japan to avoid flights from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. According to the paper, noise levels as high as 89.9 decibels were detected at one of the prefecture’s measurement sites in Ginowan at 10:53 p.m. Three citizens filed complaints with the Ginowan municipality government, asking it to take action to prevent the aircraft noise. The paper wrote that U.S. military aircraft operated late at night after 10:00 p.m. on a total of 13 days in June and that the municipal government has called on the U.S. through the Defense Ministry’s Okinawa Bureau to give consideration to the lives of local citizens.
