It has been found that a free English class for local residents had been conducted by Marines at Camp Hansen on July 7. Multiple cases of the new coronavirus infection have been confirmed at Camp Hansen.
According to information posted on the U.S. Marine Corp Forces, Pacific website on July 8, the participants were local residents and U.S. servicemen at the Camp. The 20 participants were required to wear masks during the class. Participants had their temperatures taken and wrote their names on a list before the class began.
The English class had been conducted since 2016. Classes for 2020 had been suspended since mid-March 2020 as a preventive measure against the new coronavirus. As of July 9, the Marines have not announced whether classes will continue. (Partially abridged)
