Saturday’s Mainichi wrote that the Health Ministry plans to launch a study in August on the potential aftereffects of the novel coronavirus in response to complaints from some COVID-19 patients that they have continued to experience fatigue and respiratory problems for months after being discharged from hospital. Some 2,000 former patients will be divided into two groups depending on their conditions while in hospital and receive CT scans and other medical tests to determine the causes of the aftereffects.
