The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications provided on July 20 a total of 7.943 billion yen in subsidies to eight political parties, except for the Japanese Communist Party, which did not apply for the subsidy. It was the second tranche of the government’s quarterly disbursement of political subsidies (the total amount of 31.773 billion yen). The subsidies are provided in four installments a year. The subsidies provided to the political parties in the order of amount were as follows (Numbers are rounded down to the nearest million yen):
