USFJ directs all arriving SOFA personnel to undergo COVID-19 testing

Saturday’s Yomiuri wrote that the U.S. Forces Japan announced on Friday that they have directed all SOFA personnel arriving in Japan, including service members, contractors, and families, to undergo COVID-19 testing prior to being released from the mandatory 14-day restriction of movement. According to the announcement, SOFA members arriving at commercial entry points will continue to undergo tests at their point of entry, and the USFJ will require separate negative COVID-19 exit test results for all members prior to being released from restriction of movement. Sunday’s Nikkei ran a similar report.
