TBS and Fuji TV reported that a group of LDP lawmakers held a meeting today to discuss the possibility of developing legislation banning the use of TikTok and other Chinese social media apps in Japan. The group is planning to propose the development of legislation to the GOJ based on the view that the personal data of users of Chinese apps could fall into the hands of the Chinese government.
