On July 28, the Japanese government’s Conference on Investments for the Future (Chair: Prime Minister Shinzo Abe) announced that it has taken on nine additional members. Among them are Dr. Shigeru Omi, the chairman of the government’s new coronavirus subcommittee; Rikio Kozu, the chairman of the Japanese Trade Union Confederation (Rengo); and political scientist Lully Miura. The new members will take part in discussions focusing on building economic and societal structures for the post-corona era.
