Saturday’s Okinawa Times wrote that in response to the incident in which a part dropped from a Kadena-based F-15, a senior official in charge of base issues at the Okinawa Prefectural Government lodged a protest with the 18th Wing on Friday and asked them to provide information about incidents without delay. The paper wrote that Lt. Col. Christy Stravolo, chief of public affairs for the 18th Wing, said the unit swiftly provided information as soon as it became available. The paper wrote that the prefectural government has a different view because it received notification of the incident via the Defense Ministry’s Okinawa Bureau more than 10 hours after the U.S. military confirmed the incident.
