Yomiuri wrote that trade policy will be one of the major issues that Japan would need to deal with if former Vice President Biden were elected president. The paper wrote that there is a prevailing view among Japanese businesses that Biden would probably uphold President Trump’s trade policy on auto trade and other sectors because although he supported the TPP under the Obama administration, he has expressed a clear policy of attaching importance to domestic industry with the aim of winning support from the working class.
