The dailies noted that many people remain skeptical about the campaign’s economic benefit and are worried it might be a vector for the spread of the coronavirus. Suga, who is viewed as the chief proponent of the travel promotion scheme, underscored the importance of continuing the campaign since the tourism industry is “on its deathbed.”
